Krupa Welfare and Development Society was founded by Sulochana Rani—a warrior who, despite being confined to a wheelchair, pursued higher education and dedicated herself to transforming lives through education, healthcare, and women's empowerment.
Makkena Sulochana Rani, Founder
Meet Sulochana Rani– a woman who refused to let her disability define her. Despite being unable to walk, she established Krupawelfare.org on June 16,2014,to provide healthcare, education, and livelihood programs to India's most vulnerable communities.Today, her vision has impacted over 5,000 lives across more than 50 villages.
Her story is a testament to strength, service, and unyielding hope. Born a beautiful child, her life was irrevocably altered by the polio epidemic; her physical disability became a burden she had to bear. Yet, driven by an unwavering resolve to engage in social service, she pursued higher education and stood tall—on equal footing with able-bodied individuals. Many might have assumed she was destined to live a life defined by limitations. Hailing from Ongole, a small town in the Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh, she overcame her physical challenges to become a beacon of hope for countless people.
She founded the Krupa Welfare and Development Society not for personal recognition, but because she understood firsthand the pain of being left alone and isolated. With unwavering determination, she began organizing health camps, distributing daily essentials (groceries) to rural families, supporting children's education, and empowering women and persons with disabilities through vocational training. Her story is not merely inspiring—it is transformative.Empowering lives by providing education, assistance, and hope where they are needed most.
